Dr. Hyung-Chul Lee is an anesthesiologist at Seoul National University Hospital (SNUH) in South Korea. He currently serves as the Head of the Department of Data Science Research and Deputy Chief Information Officer in the Office of Hospital Information. Dr. Lee’s research focuses on artificial intelligence, medical big data, and open datasets, with a particular interest in analyzing biosignals such as electrocardiograms, plethysmograms, and electroencephalograms. He developed and manages Vital Recorder, a free software for collecting biosignal data from various medical devices. He also oversees VitalDB (vitaldb.net), a database containing intraoperative biosignal data from 6,388 patients. His current project involves collecting data for K-MIMIC, an ambitious ICU dataset aiming to include one million patients. Dr. Lee has developed several artificial intelligence-based models using these datasets, contributing significantly to the field of medical data science.
