Date: Thursday, 3 October 2024

Time: 14:00 – 14:30

Location: 4F 401

The fifth-generation wireless networks 5G technology is revolutionizing healthcare by providing ultra-reliable, low-latency communication and significantly higher data transmission speeds. This enables real-time telemedicine, remote monitoring, Holomedicine to assist surgeries, and even remote surgeries, making healthcare more accessible and efficient. The integration of 5G with technologies like AI, IoT, and big data enhances patient care through predictive analytics and personalized treatment plans. Additionally, 5G supports the development of smart medical devices and wearables, which continuously monitor patient health and provide timely alerts to healthcare providers. This connectivity also facilitates better management of healthcare resources, reducing hospital overcrowding and improving emergency response times. As we move beyond 5G, the focus will be on creating a more interconnected and intelligent healthcare ecosystem, further bridging the gap between patients and providers, and ensuring high-quality care regardless of location. This panel with APAC 5G digital pioneers delve into the the increasing role of technologies into healthcare, opportunities and challenges, innovation and beyond.
