Team leader, Medical Innovation Office, Seoul National University Hospital, South Korea

Team Leader Park Chan-hee currently leads the Process Innovation Team within the Medical Innovation Office at Seoul National University Hospital. Her primary focus is on enhancing patient safety and improving the patient experience. Her main objective is to optimize hospital resource management by streamlining medical staff workflows. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we developed a telemedicine system that allowed both healthcare providers and patients to continue care effortlessly. To address dissatisfaction caused by poor communication between patients and medical staff, as well as other inefficiencies, we implemented patient education through mobile applications, a smart bedside system, and VR/AR technologies. This approach enables patients to transition seamlessly from inpatient treatment to post-discharge care, with tailored medical services extending to local healthcare institutions—what we refer to as a “patient-centered communication platform.” This platform is notable for offering diverse methods of patient-provider communication and establishing a cyclical healthcare system that supports continuous health management, thereby positioning us at the forefront of smart hospital innovation.
