Using AI responsibly and ethically for enhanced clinical care and outcomes
Healthcare is moving towards a digital ecosystem with advanced insights, powered by big data and AI, enabling systems to shift from secondary care into primary care and the community. Responsible AI in clinical care is the practice of using AI solutions that are ethical, accountable, and aligned with patient safety, privacy, fairness, and transparency. It requires data traceability, bias management, code transparency, patient consent, human oversight, equity, and regulatory compliance. Today, many of the data elements needed to support the creation of AI models are unstructured, such as genomic/molecular, financial, lifestyle, and behavioral.
